The alternative to Cyngn is Robotics as a Service.
Cyngn publishes the highest forklift payload in this comparison at 11,000 lb, which is a real advantage for heavy work. They are also the only publicly traded company here, which means their financials are open — and worth reading before signing a multi-year agreement.
What Cyngn builds
DriveMod — an autonomy kit fitted to partner-OEM chassis, sold as an autonomous forklift on a BYD base and an autonomous tugger, through a dealer network.
Line by line, from their published specs.

Where Cyngn beats us
Written in earnest. If one of these is the thing your operation turns on, Cyngn may be your answer and we would rather say so now.
Payload. 11,000 lb on the DriveMod Forklift is the highest published forklift capacity in this comparison by a wide margin. For heavy pallets that may settle the decision on its own.
Speed. 4.5 mph autonomous is faster than the VisionNav VNP15's published 1.5 m/s.
Recognisable customers: John Deere, NVIDIA, G&J Pepsi and Coats are all named publicly.
Transparency. As a Nasdaq-listed company their financials are fully public, which is more than any private competitor here offers.
Where RAMS wins
Purpose-built rather than retrofitted
DriveMod is an autonomy kit installed on partner OEM chassis. That constrains you to compatible platforms and splits responsibility between the autonomy vendor, the chassis maker and the dealer. VisionNav builds the vehicle.
Vehicle breadth
A forklift and a tugger against seven categories and 13 or more models, including the reach and VNA trucks Cyngn does not offer.
Read the financials before you sign
Cyngn reported FY2025 revenue of $219,000 against a net loss of $23.5M, with $34.7M in cash and stated runway through 2028. Those are their own filed numbers, and on a multi-year automation contract vendor continuity is a legitimate part of diligence. Verify current figures on their investor page before deciding.
Who carries the risk
Cyngn sells equipment. RAMS runs a RaaS program where payment begins after the system reaches its agreed operating threshold — the performance risk sits with us.
