Where Fox Robotics beats us
Written in earnest. If one of these is the thing your operation turns on, Fox Robotics may be your answer and we would rather say so now.
Proof at name-brand scale. Walmart deployed 19 FoxBots across four distribution centres after a 16-month pilot and invested for a minority stake. DHL publishes a case study reporting up to 100% of a site's inbound handled and damaged-pallet claims down 30%.
Awkward freight. They publicly claim damaged, double-stacked and wrapped pallets, which is exactly the freight that defeats a lot of dock automation.
Operating scale in one lane: 54+ sites across the US and Canada, and more than 2.5 million pallet pulls since 2019.
One robot type, one job, done repeatedly — genuinely lower integration risk if the dock is your only problem.
Where RAMS wins
A trailer is one cycle, not sixty pallet moves
Fox publishes 60 double-stacked or 30 single-stacked pallets per hour, and 45 minutes or less to unload a trailer. Q-Loader moves the trailer load as a single unit through a standard dock door, which is a different mechanism, not a faster forklift.
The rest of the building
Fox builds one vehicle for one location. Past the dock — reach trucks in racking, VNA, tuggers, pallet jacks, yard work — they have no product. RAMS covers the dock and the floor under one contract.
Retrofit versus purpose-built
The FoxBot is an autonomy kit on a standard electric forklift, by their own description. That is a legitimate design choice with real advantages, but it inherits the base truck's limits.
A structure to buy it through
Fox publishes no pricing or commercial model. RAMS offers RaaS where payment begins only after the system hits its agreed operating threshold.
